IMPORTANT NOTE: If you were born in January or February of any given year, you may need to enter the prior year as your year of birth. For example, for many years I have thought I was a Boar (no PUN intended) according to Chinese Astrology because I was born in January 1959. However, once I started studying Feng Shui, I found out that your Kua number is based on the LUNAR calendar. The lunar year actually starts towards the end of January or mid February - depending upon the year. So, to make a short story long - I found out that I am a Dog - not a Boar. : )

Below is a chart that will give you when the lunar year began. So, if you were born prior to the date that the year began, when you calculate your Kua number, you will need to enter the year prior to the actual year you were born. For example, I have to enter 1958 instead of 1959 for my birth year because the lunar year did not start until Feb 8 in 1959.
